Kenya’s year-round sunshine provides the perfect opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint. Solar panels across the property supply a significant portion of Almanara’s power needs, ensuring guests enjoy modern comforts with minimal environmental impact.

Water Conservation and Recycling

Water is one of the coast’s most precious resources. Almanara operates a reverse osmosis plant that filters and purifies water drawn from our borehole. The filtered water is used throughout the property, with all the grey water being reused to irrigate our gardens — ensuring nothing goes to waste.

Plastic-Free Commitment

Long before it became a global movement, Almanara adopted a plastic-free policy. We used glass bottles for all of our drinks – from water to wine to beer – with the empty bottles either being returned to the supplier to be reused, or recycled by our waste management partner, further reducing our footprint and protecting our marine environment.
